Fire Breaks Out at Rancho Cordova Care Facility

The following is a news release from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District:


Just after five [Monday] evening, Metro Fire responded to a reported house fire on Feather River Wy. in Rancho Cordova

 

Crews arrived to find fire coming from a care facility which houses five occupants.  Fortunately the two staff members were able to evacuate all occupants and relay that information to the arriving crews.  A coordinated effort by Firefighters quickly confined and extinguished the fire.  These quick actions saved approximately $150K in property value.

Being able to locate staff and ensure all of the occupants were accounted for saved valuable time.  This allowed crews on scene to focus on stabilizing the incident.

Fortunately everyone is safe and there were no injuries reported. The cause of this fire is under investigation
