Part of building collapsed in two-alarm fire early Monday on Marconi Avenue.

Four Carmichael businesses were destroyed by a two-alarm fire that tore through a building early Monday morning.

Sacramento Metro Fire Department PIO Michelle Eidman said a significant portion of the building -- at 5725 Marconi Ave. -- collapsed. The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time, and under investigation, she said.

Businesses at the address include Escape Therapy, Michael A. Frank and Associates, Parisi Insurance Agency, Western Health Advantage and SeeTheQuote.com, according to Google Maps

The approximately 7,000-square foot, single-story commercial building was well involved when units arrived, Eidman said, and included the building, attic and contents.

Fire personnel were dispatched at 12:16 a.m., after multiple callers reported flames coming through the roof, Eidman said.

There was an estimated $500,000 in damage, Eidman said, and the businesses will not be able to return to the destroyed building.
