Homicide Suspect Appears in Court
Conference for murder suspect Moses Trotter delayed to Sept. 28

Moses Stanley Trotter, the man suspected of killing a 79 year-old Fair Oaks woman, appeared in court Friday morning for a settlement conference that was delayed until next month.
Linda Parisi, an attorney for Trotter, told the Sacramento County Superior Court judge that she was waiting for police reports, and the conference was continued to Sept. 28.
Trotter allegedly killed Carole Jane Sturgis the night of July 15 in what police described as a brutal, violent attack in her home on the 7800 block of Olympic Way. According to a Sacramento County Sheriff’s report, Trotter wandered into Sturgis’ neighborhood around 7 p.m. and forcibly entered at least two other homes before killing Sturgis.
