Jan. 1-8: Store Security Stops Home Depot Shoplifter
Few details released in report of domestic assault.

No money, no problem
A 53-year-old man was arrested earlier this week for trying to swipe display items from the local on Madison Avenue.
Store loss prevention officers stopped Les Herrick on Saturday once he made his way outside the home repair business. Sacramento County sheriff’s authorities say Herrick was seen picking out display items and concealing them in his clothes.

Sheriff’s officials are still looking into allegations that a 22-year-old man beat up his pregnant girlfriend Jan. 6 at a residence eight minutes away from Carmichael.
Neither the suspect nor the victims have been named in the case, but the sheriff’s department says an argument at a Sacramento residence in the 5100 block of Garfield Avenue led to the physical confrontation in which the male suspect allegedly threw his girlfriend to the ground and began punching her in the face.
According to the report, the suspect then kicked the 20-year-old woman in the face. The victim sought medical attention for her eye as a result of the assault.
A second victim, a 2-year-old female, was listed in the report, but no further details were given. A sheriff’s spokesman did not return a request for comment.
