Jan. 30-Feb. 6: Fair Oaks Man Suspects Wife of Stealing Belongings
Local reports threatening texts to authorities.

Irreconcilable differences
Marital discord was to blame for one of two reported robberies in Fair Oaks in less than a week.
Around noon on Jan. 30, Sacramento County sheriff’s authorities investigated a report of a burglary at a residence in the 4900 block of Forrestal Street in Fair Oaks. The 36-year-old male victim said two suspects entered his home through an unknown point of entry and stole an unspecified number of possessions. A sheriff’s official said a property sheet was yet to be completed.

While a sheriff’s report listed the suspects as “unknown,” the victim gave investigators fairly detailed descriptions, pointing them in the direction of his estranged wife and her male companion.
“(The) victim thinks it may be connected to his failing marriage,” said sheriff’s media officer Sharon Chow.

Six days later, sheriff’s officers responded to an unrelated break-in at a residence in the 8300 block of Winding Way. The 54-year-old female resident left her place, telling authorities she remembered to lock up before going, only to return later to find personal property missing.
While the victim reported the crime on Feb. 7, Chow said the victim believed the crime might have occurred the previous Saturday and didn’t notice an unlocked window in her residence until Sunday. The victim was also not sure what property was taken, Chow said.
Unwelcome texts
To threaten via text message hasn’t yet warranted its own portmanteau mash-up, but a Fair Oaks man and his family fell prey to threxting earlier this month.
On Feb. 6, the 34-year-old local, whose name was not revealed in a sheriff’s report, told authorities he had been the recipient of several obscene and lewd text messages. The victim, who lives in the 8100 block of Walnut Hills Way, said he was also being sent multiple threatening texts referring to him and his family.
According to Chow, the victim had no idea who was behind the threatening texts, or threxts. California Penal Code section 653m makes it a misdemeanor to threaten, annoy or harass another person by telephone or electronic communication.
