Madison Avenue Crash Victim Succumbs to Injuries

Authorities have confirmed that the victim in the Madison Avenue crash yesterday died at the hospital.

The Citrus Heights Police Department confirmed that Thursday’s Madison Avenue crash victim died yesterday at Mercy San Juan Hospital.

Although the family has already been notified, the police department said they will not release the identity of the victim.

The Sacramento County Cornoner's website listed the victim as Anthony Hernandez, 21.

CHPD spokesman Chad Morris said there was no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved in the single-car crash.

“He was driving at a high speed and unfortunately lost control and hit a tree,” Morris said.

Ken Spencer, a reader who contacted Patch, described Hernandez as a caring person.

“He was the farthest thing from a bad kid you could ever imagine,” Spencer said. “He was never involved in drugs and alcohol.”
