After passing by a McDonalds trash bin inside the store, I noticed that the trash was full of paper waste. I talked to a shift manager about that, asking what they do with all that paper and the response was that it all goes into the regular garbage for disposal. Meaning: The response: "we have no recycle program in place for customer refuse." Also, I was told, "I wish there was some way to do that." I'm shocked because they have a HUGE amount of paper being thrown away daily. Does this end up in a landfill somewhere? Does it get incinerated somewhere at some ungodly degree to to get rid of it? I think this deserves some discussion and hopefully a solution.
