Neighbors React to Man's Cold Case Arrest

Neighbors on the Carmichael street where Andrew Sanford lived found out this week that he was arrested for the murder of a man in South Lake Tahoe in 1980.

Sanford, now 50, killed Richard Swanson on Aug. 14, 1980, local news outlets are reporting.

"Doesn't surprise me," neighbor Bill Petlowany told KCRA 3. "He was a very strange person and always dressed in black."

A KCRA reporter asked fellow neighbor and if he ever thought he would be living next to an accused murderer.

"To be honest, no," Grix said. "It blows my mind."
