Registration Opens for Kops-N-Kids

Summer camp will be held in June at Rosemont High.

Carmichael kids will again have the chance to play sports and learn life lessons from cops and firefighters in Rosemont this summer.

Registration is now open for the Kops-N-Kids summer camp, held June 18-22 at . The camp costs $32 and runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, according to a press release.

Various law enforcement agencies and fire departments from Sacramento County participate in the camp, including the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office and Sacramento Metro Fire District.

"The focus of the camp is to educate children about gang resistance, violence prevention, gun avoidance, and to promote positive choices," the press release states. "Youth are given the opportunity for positive interaction with law enforcement and fire department role models."

The camp is available to kids ages 9-13, according to the press release.

"The kids experience sports clinics, learn about life skills and anger management," the press release states. "Kops-N-Kids have added a new educational element addressing Internet safety."
