A helicopter and two crews dispatched to American River Parkway near Ancil Hoffman Park.

Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department rescuers found a woman they believed to be intoxicated on the south bank of the American River after responding to reports of a near-drowning near Saturday afternoon, fire department spokesman Scott Cockrum said.

The woman, thought be in her 20s, was conscious and alert when rescuers arrived 15 minutes after receiving the emergency dispatch at 3:05 pm, Cockrum said. Park rangers reached the woman first. Cockrum didn’t know if she was taken to a hospital.

Last weekend, Sac Metro Fire performed more than 50 assists on the river during a raft party dubbed Rafting Gone Wild, which drew an estimated 3,500 attendees.
