Suspicious Package Investigated in Citrus Heights by Sheriff's Bomb Squad
A caller told police they spotted a woman "carefully place" a box near the sidewalk and drive away.

The following is a news release from the Citrus Heights Police Department regarding the investigation of a suspicious package in town on Thursday:
On 10/24/13 at approximately 2100 hours, Citrus Heights Police Department received a call of a suspicious package in the 5900 Block of Auburn Blvd.
A caller advised seeing a female get out of a vehicle and carefully places a white box near the sidewalk. The female got back into the vehicle and drove away.
The only description is a white female with blonde hair and the vehicle was possibly a Honda Accord. The vehicle was last seen heading southbound towards Madison Ave.
Auburn Blvd was closed from Greenback Lane to Manzanita Ave. for approximately one hour while Sacramento Sheriff's EOD team examined the box and eventually determined it was empty.
