Wind-N-Willow Offers Alternative Remedies for Fair Oaks Health And Wellness
Local alternative remedy boutique offers relaxation and healing through herbal and spa treatments.
Wind-N-Willow Specialty Shop and Spa in Old Fair Oaks Village focuses on spa services for the mind, body and spirit but can special order herbs, oils or any homeopathic remedy one could possibly be looking for. Owner, Sallie Blake-Zvolanek started her business because she has always had a passion for helping people and bringing her knowledge of alternative healing ideas to the Fair Oaks community. Some of her services include body detoxification, aromatherapy and herbal treatments.
Sallie has been studying alternative medicine for the past 10 years, specializing in what she calls "new-age metaphysical healing modalities."
"We use different treatments for the individual's needs with an array of techniques," Blake-Zvolanek said. "We provide a new-age skin care line with all-natural ingredients and no paraben from Australia."

The rest of Blake-Zvolanek’s shop is tastefully decorated in a Feng Shui manner. Crystals and muted colors helped to create an ambience of peace and tranquility.
“Placing objects in certain places helps to deflect negative energy and promote a healthy environment,” she explained.

The menu of available spa services is long yet affordable (Prices start out at $25 and top off at $99) but remember to call ahead. Treatments are available by appointment only. A variety of custom facials are available with the on-site licensed esthetician. There are also special group events and spa parties for occasions such as a bridal showers or couples spa.
Blake-Zvolanek recommends the Raindrop Massage experience for relaxation and revitalization. The session uses aromatherapy to stimulate the senses to create a powerful connection to the brain, soothing emotions, improving memory and healing. The service is followed with a Swedish massage that Blake-Zvolanek claims balances and rejuvenates the body, mind and spirit.
Another treatment offered is the Japanese technique of stress reduction known as Reiki. Reiki uses the energy of the hands to heal the body. The practitioner uses his or her hands to release blocked energies and bring in positive light-energy to help one feel relaxed and balanced.
Blake-Zvolanek explained that often our systems and energy get out of alignment through life stresses and illness and can be brought back into balance through natural holistic treatments.
The business has been working hard to establish itself in the Fair Oaks community. Blake-Zvolanek explained potential customers can sometimes have a misconceived perception of what her business actually provides.
"For people who don't have the means to destress, we've been giving complimentary facials for them," Blake-Zvolanek said.
Ms. Blake-Zvolanek has been looking for ways to advertise her shop and attract new business. A privately owned business such as hers relies heavily on a strong client base and word of mouth, she explained. She remains hopeful that if more people knew about her shop they would be willing to try some of her services. Those interested in a full description of services can go to Blake-Zvolanek's website at www.windnwillowshop.com.
She will be more than happy to answer any questions and talk about all of her treatments. Where there is a little bit of stress and a desire to diffuse it with some deep tissue massage and aromatherapy, Wind-N-Willow may be the alternative.
