Willauer-Contributing Writer-Saturday, September 12, 2026-Palomar College-San Marcos, CA-The Palomar College Comets under new head coach and former NFL player Tom Kaumeyer who played for the New York Giants, Los Angeles Rams and the Seattle Seahawks came back to his roots of the Comets as they improve their record to 2-0 as they defeated the Huskies of East Los Angeles College by a 26-7 score.
The Comets jumped out to a 14-0 lead on 1 touchdown run by Poway alum's Noah Schuback's (192 yards passing, rushed for 51 yards) and a 14 yarder by Maurice Howard (carried the ball for 51 yards). The Huskies of ELC came back to cut the deficit to 14-7 as QB Teagan Melendez threw a 12 yard pass to Jaeden Thomas. Carson Beard followed with a 30 yard field goal to make the score 17-7.
The Comets scored another touchdown on a fumble recovery touchdown by Tanner Doyle along with a safety zone to make the final score 26-7

Palomar's next opponent is Pasadena City College in a 6 PM kickoff at home.
