Human Foot Washes Ashore in Pacifica

Police are investigating the discovery of a human foot that apparently washed ashore in Pacifica on Sunday.

Officers received a report at 3:15 p.m. Sunday that the foot had been found in the Rockaway Beach area, south of Old County Road, police said.

The officers confirmed that the object found was, in fact, a human foot, and called the San Mateo County coroner's office.

A deputy coroner responded and collected the foot, police said.

Authorities searched the beach for additional remains but none were found.

The incident remains under investigation.
