Police Blotter: Car Thief Suspect Drove on Suspended License; Employee Suspected of Theft Assaults Accuser

Friday, Dec. 2
12:27 a.m., East Hillsdale Boulevard: A Torrance man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Scott M. Kato, 27, was taken to First Chance, a San Carlos treatment center.
8:13 a.m., Sea Spray Lane: Burglars smashed in windows of two cars in an underground parking lot, stealing a GPS from one vehicle and ransacking the other. The break-ins occurred sometime after 6 p.m. on Thursday.

6:48 p.m., Emerald Bay Lane and Edgewater Boulevard: A Burlingame woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. Sarah Mayers, 40, was taken to county jail.

Saturday, Dec. 3
3:17 a.m., Shell Boulevard and Bounty Drive: A Hillsborough man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. David T. Wang. 25, was taken to First Chance.
5:15 p.m., Safeway store on East Hillsdale Boulevard: Police arrested two men on suspicion of vehicle theft and parole violations. Gian Tran, 43 of San Jose, and Phu Nguyen, 47, were both taken to county jail. Nguyen was also cited for driving on a suspended license.
Sunday, Dec. 4
3:17 a.m., Crowne Plaza on Chess Drive: A Hayward man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Yamin Ayesh, 34, was taken to First Chance.
6:47 a.m., Costco on Metro Center Boulevard: A Costco employee confronted with theft allegations threw his badge and radio at his accuser and walked out of the store at about 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 30. Store management hasn’t been able to contact the suspect but told officials they want to press charges.
