Police Blotter: Cops Muzzle Foul-Mouthed Pitbull Owners; Juveniles Arrested for Stealing Handicap Scooter

Thursday, Dec. 29
2:34 a.m., East Hillsdale Boulevard at U.S. 101 Freeway: A San Jose man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Son Pham, 25, was taken to First Chance, a San Carlos treatment center.
2:18 p.m., Costco on Metro Center Boulevard: A hit-and-run driver caused unspecified property damage in a collision. The driver was described as an elderly Asian woman driving a red sedan with a partial license plate of “4MV????”

8:10 p.m., Dog Park on Foster City Boulevard: Authorities responded to a report of three adult owners of two pitbulls screaming and cursing at people in park area. Police diffused the dispute but made no arrests.

Friday, Dec. 30
1:49 a.m., Safeway on East Hillsdale Boulevard: Three juveniles were arrested on suspicion of grand theft for allegedly stealing a scooter for handicapped customers. The suspects were released in the custody of their parents.
6:03 p.m., Somerset Lane: Burglars smashed a rear window of a car parked in a driveway and stole a purse, eyewitnesses told police.
Saturday, Dec. 31
2:24 p.m., Costco on Metro Center Boulevard: A Union City man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting. Richard Valerio, 38, is accused of stealing DVDs valued at approximately $180.
Sunday, Jan. 1
1:25 a.m., Edgewater Boulevard and Hillsdale Boulevard: Police responded to the report of a man who bragged about being drunk at a Denny’s restaurant and drove off in a black sedan, but were unable to immediately locate the driver.
3:20 a.m., Forrestal Lane: Vandals threw a rock that shattered a home’s kitchen window.
1:11 p.m., Marlin Avenue: Thieves stole a kids’ mountain bike valued at $200 from an open garage sometime after 1:05 p.m. The bike was blue and red with white stripes.
Monday, Jan. 2
8:50 a.m., Vintage Park Drive: Burglars stole two computers valued at $6,000 sometime after 6 p.m. on Dec. 29.
2:24 p.m., Bounty Drive: A Cannondale Adventure 5 mountain bike was stolen from a patio sometime after 7 p.m. on Jan. 1. The bike was blue with silver and white accents.
5:15 p.m., Hanbury Lane: A Raleigh Talus mountain bike valued at $400 was stolen from a garage sometime after Dec. 17.
