Police Blotter: Vending Machine Bandits Cost City $110; High-End Tools Stolen in Separate Incidents

Saturday, April 21
11:11 a.m., Rain Cycle Storage on Foster City Boulevard: A miter saw and a saw table valued at about $1,000 were stolen from a utility trailer sometime in the past three weeks. Burglars used a lock drill and a door pry to break into the trailer.
1:38 p.m., Rock Harbor Lane: A men's black mountain bike valued at about $250 was stolen sometime after 6 p.m. on Friday. The thieves cut through a wire lock.

10:55 p.m. Foster City Boulevard: A Castro Valley man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Ivan Rakityanskey, 42, was taken to First Chance, a San Carlos treatment center.

Sunday, April 22
1:16 a.m., Edgewater Boulevard and Beach Park Boulevard: A Foster City woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Kevelyn R. Ribiero, 18, was taken to First Chance.
3:19 p.m., The Jumps on Beach Park Boulevard: Police responding to a report of two motorcyclists at Shells Dirt Jumps arrested a South San Francisco man on an outstanding warrant. Britt Shiffer, 19, was taken to county jail.
6:20 p.m. East Hillsdale Boulevard: The hit and run driver of a gray vehicle was involved in collision that left a baby with head lacerations.
Monday, April 23
7:23 a.m., East Hillsdale Boulevard: Thieves stole a Dewalt miter saw and a stand valued at about $700 from a construction site sometime after 3 p.m. on Friday.
9:40 a.m., Recreation Center on Shell Boulevard: Thieves broke into a vending machine in the South hallway causing $109.50 in damage. The incident occurred sometime on or after Thursday.
10:33 p.m., Safeway on East Hillsdale Boulevard: A transient man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a hypodermic needle. John Sexton, 27, was cited and released.
