Schools Open Soon: Safety Tips from Foster City Police
One school is already open, and several others start soon. Foster City Police today shared tips for road safety during school drop-off and pick-up hours.

While has been open since Aug. 1, the remaining Foster City schools will open on Aug. 31. Police Chief Craig Courtin would like to remind motorists to drive carefully and pay special attention when driving around schools.
Remember to obey the flashing red lights on schools busses and always yield the right-of-way to pedestrians.
Parents driving students to school should make every effort to approach the school so their child can exit from the passenger side of the car, directly on to campus.
To assist with traffic flow and improve safety, drivers should not make U-turns on residential streets around the schools.

Parents and students are urged to use available crosswalks and wait for assistance from crossing guards, where available.
It’s up to everyone to protect our local children while they are going to and from school, so please slow down and help make this a safe school year.
