2 Wounded In Orange County Shooting

Authorities suspect the Santa Ana incident was gang-related.

SANTA ANA, CA - Two men were wounded Monday night in Santa Ana in what investigators said they believe was possibly a gang-related shooting.

Officers responded about 8:30 p.m. to a report of shots fired in the area of 3500 W. 11th St., according to Santa Ana police Cmdr. Matt Sorenson.

The victims were found, both suffering from gunshot wounds to their lower bodies, Sorenson said.

They were in stable condition when taken to a hospital, Sorenson said.

"At this point their injuries don't appear to be life-threatening,'' Sorenson said.

No suspect information was immediately available, but the initial investigation led police to believe the shooting was possibly gang-related, Sorenson said.
