Armed and Dangerous Transient Wanted For Murder in Anaheim, Police Say

Homicide detectives asking for the public's help in locating this man, related to Wednesday murder in Anaheim.

ANAHEIM, CA — Authorities are seeking a local transient related to the fatal shooting of a 49-year-old man Wednesday night at an Anaheim motel. A kidnapping victim may be with him, according to Anaheim police.

"Luke Theodore Lampers, a 35-year-old transient, is suspected of gunning down Douglas Navarro last night at Crystal Inn, on the 2100 block of W. Lincoln Avenue," Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt said.

The shooting happened just before 7:30 p.m., Wyatt said. Police were still trying to determine a motive for the shooting.

"Lampers and the victim got into some sort of dispute at the motel prior to the shooting," Wyatt said. "He is also suspected of kidnapping Brianne Deese from the motel."

Deese and Lampers have had a "romantic relationship" in the past, "but detectives believe she is being held against her will," Wyatt said.

Lampers fled in a 2011 orange Nissan Cube with the license plates 6SOY425, Wyatt said.

He is considered armed and dangerous and anyone who sees him should call 911 immediately, Wyatt said.
