Bomb Squad Called to Tamura Elementary in Fountain Valley

A pipe was found inside a plastic bag on campus.

UPDATE at 10:34 a.m.: That suspicious item that forced an evacuation at Tamura Elementary School in Fountain Valley has been determined to be safe. KNX radio reports the device, initially described as a piece of PVC pipe in a plastic bag, was a mounting unit for a small camera.

An Orange County sheriff’s bomb squad has been sent to Tamura Elementary School, 17340 Santa Suzanne St. in Fountain Valley, according to the Fountain Valley Police Department.

NBC4 reports a pipe was found inside a plastic bag on campus.
