Dollar Tree Three-Peats in Fountain Valley

Saturday marks the grand opening of the third Dollar Tree Store locally.

A new Dollar Tree Store is opening this Saturday at 9:00 a.m., making it the third such discount retailer in Fountain Valley.

The new store is located at 17908 Magnolia Street, in the same center as Rite-Aid and Big Lots.

Dollar Tree offers great deals on seasonal items, particularly before and after Halloween and Christmas, as well as partyware and plastic ware for parties.

And, of course, everything is a dollar. Seriously.

The roots of the company go back to 1953 when K.R. Perry opened his first discount store, but the first Dollar Tree Store (then called Only $1.00) was opened in Dalton, Georgia, in 1986. The franchise has grown steadily over the years, but in 2008 Dollar Tree achieved a landmark by earning a place in the Fortune 500, the only company to do so "A Dollar At A Time."

Last year, Dollar Tree opened its 4,000th store and moved outside of the U.S. for the first time, opening stores in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The other two Dollar Tree Stores in Fountain Valley are located at 17876 Newhope St. and 16141 Harbor Blvd.
