Fatal Beach Boulevard Crash Near Fountain Valley Over the weekend

A weekend accident claimed the life of an as-of-yet unidentified man who was struck by a truck and Prius according to reports.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — A weekend accident in Huntington Beach has cost the life of an unknown male pedestrian who was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk according to police reports.

Two vehicles reportedly hit the man while he was crossing Beach Boulevard at Terry Drive, in the city of Huntington Beach

"On Saturday, August 27, at 2:30 a.m., the Huntington Beach Police Department responded to the area of Beach Boulevard and Terry Drive regarding a traffic collision involving two vehicles and a pedestrian," Huntington Beach Police reported.

The arriving officers located an unidentified deceased male in the roadway, as well as two involved vehicles, a red Nissan truck and a white Toyota Prius.

"Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears the pedestrian was crossing Beach Boulevard from the west side walking east," the report said. "The pedestrian was outside of the crosswalk and was struck by the truck in the northbound lanes. The Prius was also traveling northbound and then struck the pedestrian as well. Impairment does not appear to be a factor."

As of Monday at 1 p.m., the deceased has not been identified by the Orange County Coroner's office.

The investigation will continue, and is being conducted by the HBPD Major Incident Reconstruction Team (M.I.R.T).

"No citations have been issued and no arrests have been made at this time," the report said. During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 714-960-8811."

According to Facebook reader responses, this is not the first fatality at the intersection.
