Fatality On The 405 Overnight: CHP

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA — At least one person was killed in a crash early Friday morning on the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway in Fountain Valley, according to the California Highway Patrol. As of this report, it was unclear if alcohol or speeding wast the cause of the collision.

The crash shut down the No. 2, 3, and 4 lanes as well at the onramps to the 405 Freeway at Brookhurst Street.

First responders arrived a the scene at just after 1:15 a.m., to the site of the collision on the 405 at the Brookhurst Street offramp, the CHP reported.

It's not clear yet how many vehicles were involved, but one vehicle ended up overturned on the right side of the freeway, the CHP said during the investigation.

There were no immediate reports of any other injuries.
