Fatally Wounded Moreno Valley Resident ID'd in Fountain Valley Domestic Dispute

A fatal shooting that authorities believe was fueled by domestic dispute left a man dead and two more in custody according to Fullerton PD.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA — A shooting that police say was fueled by a domestic dispute left one man was dead, another hospitalized and two men in custody in Fullerton. The victims and the suspects that were arrested were all residents of Riverside County.

It is unclear at this time what drew them to the Fullerton apartment where the shooting took place.

The Orange County Coroner's Office released the name of the victim—40-year-old Moreno Valley resident, Alton EVANS III—was fatally injured in Thursday night's shooting.

The incident occurred in the 1300 block of South Orange Avenue, according to Fullerton police Sgt. Jon Radus.

A 22-year-old man was also shot in the event. The victim, whose name was also withheld, sustained a bullet wound to a hand and was hospitalized, he said.

Two Riverside County men, Zachary Simmons, 20, of Moreno Valley and Andre Evans, 39, of Hesperia, were booked on suspicion of murder, Radus said.

"Investigators believe the shooting, which occurred outside an apartment complex just after 9:40 p.m. Thursday, stemmed from a domestic conflict between the victims and suspects," Radus said. "The suspects and victims were all previously acquainted."
