Hewson worked for the Huntington Beach City School District when he was arrested, but prosecutors said the hundreds of illegal images had nothing to do with Huntington Beach students, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Huntington Beach police, working with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, investigated the case and arrested Hewson on Nov. 7, 2013.
