Fountain Valley Business Expo to Be Held Thursday

Exposure to thousands is expected for participants.

Fountain Valley business owners hope to engage new customers during the city's seventh annual Business Expo this Thursday.

This Thursday night's installment of the Concert in the Park series, featuring the Jimmy Buffett tribute group Mark Wood and the Parrot Head Band, is being held in conjunction with the Business Expo pre-event put on by the Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Local businesses will set up kiosks to showcase their offerings to attendees and attract new customers. The businesses represented will showcase their wares and services, with free samples, giveaways, games and drawings.

Why should businesses participate? "The expo benefits business owners to showcase their business to thousands of people attending the concert that may not know of their business," said Beverly White, chamber executive director.  "They may get new customers, but the exposure is important."

Last year's event drew almost 4,000 attendees and 29 businesses; this year, the 25 local participants will include everything from dental to fast food and laser-removal businesses.

The expo is free to the public as part of the concert series. Both events run simultaneously from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the Fountain Valley Recreation and Sports Park.
