Fountain Valley Police to Beef Up Patrols Near High School after Threat

The Orange County Sheriff's Bomb Squad found no explosives on campus. Parents are encouraged to visit the school's website for the latest.

From the Fountain Valley Police Department:

On Sept. 3, at 6:15 a.m., Fountain Valley Police received a phone call from the Fountain Valley High School principal that a threatening e-mail had been sent to the school.

The e-mail indicated that there were explosives on campus and the suspect would show up at the school to shoot any survivors. All faculty on campus were evacuated and the school was locked down by Fountain Valley Police. No students were on campus.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad searched the school and found no evidence of explosives on campus. The source of the e-mail is still under investigation.

The school re-opened at 11:30 AM for faculty and extra-curricular activities, but classes remain cancelled until tomorrow. Students and parents are encouraged to visit the Fountain Valley High School website, fvhs.com, for updated information about school schedules.

Fountain Valley Police will be conducting increased patrols at all Fountain Valley schools overthe next few days. We encourage anyone to report suspicious activity to the Police Department, (714) 593-4485 or 911 in an emergency.
