Submitted by the Fountain Valley Police Department

The Fountain Valley Police Department, along with the Recreation and Community Services Division, will join forces with thousands of communities nationwide to celebrate “National Night Out”, a crime and drug prevention event.

Our event will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, and will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Fountain Valley Recreation Center, 16400 Brookhurst St., Fountain Valley, CA 92708. National Night Out is designed to: (1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts; (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and (4) Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

The Fountain Valley Police Officer’s Association will be hosting a dunk tank to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). This is being done in honor of Mike Fitzpatrick, one of FVPD’s officers, who was recently diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. The Fountain Valley POA established “Team Fitz” to provide support to our fellow officer and to raise awareness about this form of cancer. A representative from LLS will be on hand to answer questions and help educate our community about Leukemia and Lymphoma. Make a donation and get a chance to dunk a Fountain Valley Police Officer!
