Honda Center's Grand Terrace to be Unveiled at Ducks Home Opener

Honda Center's $20 million expansion project will be unveiled Thursday night in connection with the Anaheim Ducks home opener against the New York Rangers.

The Grand Terrace Project is the largest single upgrade in Honda Center's 20-year history. The 15,000-square foot indoor/outdoor entertainment space features more than 100 feet of bar space, upscale decor and outdoor fire pits.

The plaza is flanked by two Daktronics screens measuring 15 feet by 25 feet.

A new Anaheim Ducks team store is located directly beneath the The Grand Terrace. It is more than three times the size of the arena's previous team store.

A red carpet entrance by Ducks players will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Honda Center's south side, with players walking a red carpet through the entry plaza.

All fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 6:45 p.m. for the opening sequence and player introductions.

The first of four "Surprise Puck" sales will be held, benefiting the Anaheim Ducks Foundation. Thursday's limited-edition puck commemorates Anaheim's inaugural game on Oct. 8, 1993 and will be available for purchase for $30 each at Section 212 beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Fans will pick an individually wrapped puck, signed by a Ducks player, with 20 random fans receiving a surprise Ducks player-autographed orange puck. The winners of the opening night surprise puck sale will receive a Mighty Ducks jersey autographed by Guy Hebert, the team's first choice in the 1993 expansion draft and its No. 1 goaltender for its first eight seasons.
