Huntington Beach-based Credit Union Expands

American Federal Credit Union (AFCU) is based in Mission Hills, near Granada Hills in Los Angeles County. AFCU’s board of directors and its credit union members voted overwhelmingly on March 14 to approve the merger. The vote will join the two credit unions with a common goal and purpose, to provide its member-owners with improved personalized service and more financially rewarding products

The combined credit union now has approximately $1.5 billion in assets and 85,000 members, with 13 full-service branch locations throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties. These branches are in addition to the more than 5,000 CO-OP shared branch locations and nearly 30,000 CO-OP Network ATMs available to Nuvision Members nationwide with no surcharge. CO-OP Network is the nation's largest credit union-owned, surcharge-free ATM network, offering the coast-to-coast convenience of nearly 30,000 ATMs.

Nuvision provides convenient access through industry-leading online and mobile banking technologies. The merger will offer AFCU members a stronger credit union with the ability for them to access their accounts in more places than ever before.

Nuvision and American Federal accounts will be integrated into a single core system, allowing former AFCU members access to the full array of Nuvision’s products and services.
