Illegal Immigrant Wanted in Child Sexual Assault Investigation

FULLERTON, CA — An undocumented immigrant is wanted regarding the Dec. 21, 2016 possible sexual assault of a 5-year-old girl in Fullerton, according to area police.

On Wednesday the Fullerton Police Department requested the public's help in tracking down Rigoberto Arevalo Cubias, a man suspected possible sexual assault of a 5-year-old late last year.

"Police are looking for Rigoberto Arevalo Cubias, 30, who is an undocumented immigrant from El Salvador," Fullerton police Sgt. Jon Radus said. "Police suspect he may have a bogus state driver's license."

Cubias has an outstanding $50,000 warrant in a 2014 DUI case.

He is also known to use the names Jose Cubias, Jose Cubias Arevalo, Jose Riberto Cubias and Jose Alfonso Cubias Arevalo, Radus said.

Cubias is 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs 185 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

"Detectives believe that Cubias now knows he is wanted by police and is on the run from law enforcement," Radus said. "He has discarded his previously owned vehicle and cell phone in what detectives believe is an attempt to elude capture."
