Jogger Found Dead Near Mile Square Park Identified, Coroner Says

A San Diego man was found dead after jogging through a Fountain Valley park, according to officials. His identity has been released.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA — A 24-year-old jogger identified as Tho Le, a resident of San Diego, was found dead Thursday on a Fountain Valley jogging trail near Mile Square Park.

Authorities responded to a report of a person down at just before 1 p.m. on the jogging trail along Brookhurst Street north of Warner Avenue, said Fountain Valley police Sgt. Kham Vang.

"Arriving officers found the man wearing jogging attire lying on the grass just off the trail," Vang said. "The man had been running along the exterior of Mile Square Park and appeared to have collapsed during his run."

The San Diego man, whose death does not appear to be suspicious, was visiting a friend in the Fountain Valley area, Vang said.

The Orange County coroner's office responded to the scene and took over the investigation, Vang said.

According to the coroner's office an autopsy was completed but cause of death is pending additional testing/investigation.
