Local Man Finds Catalytic Converter Stolen

Police briefs from around Fountain Valley.

A man reported three unknown scratches on his 2005 Lexus SUV on Kalama River Avenue, near Fry's Electronics, Feb. 1 at 3:13 p.m. No suspect(s) were detected and no physical evidence was found. Damages were estimated at $250.

A man reported a $201.80 catalytic converter stolen from his parked car in the Orange County Memorial Hospital parking structure on Talbert Avenue and Brookhurst Street, Feb. 1 at 1:41 p.m. Upon starting his ignition Jan. 29 at 6 p.m., the vehicle owner grew suspicious of the sound the car made and noticed the missing property after conducting a short inspection.

A man reported an attempted burglary at Alta Dena Dairy on Newland Street, Jan. 31 at 8:34 a.m. The business was secured on Jan. 30 at 4 p.m. and upon returning the following day at 8:10 a.m., the man found the lower west glass window broken by unknown suspect(s) with an unknown object. No signs of entry was detected, said investigators. Damages were estimated at $500.
