Local Man Reports Missing Wallet and Fraudulent Charges Made on iTunes

Police reports from around Fountain Valley.

Theft from a vehicle was reported on Buttonwood Street, Feb. 1 at 12:50 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) took four hubcaps before fleeing undetected. Estimated property loss was $1,000.

Theft from a vehicle was reported on Ellis Avenue near Bushard Avenue, Jan. 26 at 10:50 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry through unknown means and took a GPS and an iPod before fleeing undetected. Estimated property loss was $450.

Petty theft was reported from Vernon Street, Jan. 25 at 12:20 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) took an unsecured bicycle from a residential driveway and fled undetected. Estimated property loss was $400.

Theft from a residence was reported on Columbia River Court, Jan. 31 at 2:41 p.m. The victim accused a man, who had previously worked in her home, of taking $400 worth of clothing. The accused denied committing the crime.

Theft was reported from Fountain Valley Hospital on Euclid Street, Jan. 31 at 12:06 p.m. The victim, who had been a patient at the hospital, discovered his wallet missing when he returned home and upon reviewing his bank statements online, he saw that the unknown suspect(s) had attempted to make two $700 charges on iTunes with his credit card.  

Theft from a vehicle was reported from Mount Geode Avenue, Jan. 28 at 6:27 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into a locked vehicle through unknown means and after ransacking the glove compartment, fled undetected with $280 worth of property.

Theft from a vehicle was reported from Edinger Avenue and Mount Gustin Street, Jan. 28 at 8:16 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) smashed the left rear window to gain entry and broke a key inside the ignition hole in attempts to start the vehicle. After failing to do so, the suspect(s) took a new toaster oven and fled undetected. Damage was estimated at $300.

Theft from a vehicle was report from Talbert Avenue and Santa Mariana Street, Jan. 26 at 8:45 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into the unlocked vehicle and took a wallet and a jacket before fleeing undetected. The victim believes the crime may have occurred during his visit to LA Fitness the day before. Estimated property loss was $280.
