Man Accused of Killing Another in Santa Ana, Dumping Him

A suspect was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of killing a 24-year-old man in Santa Ana and dumping him elsewhere on a sidewalk, police said.

Jose Miguel Avalos, 27, of Santa Ana was booked into the city jail, according to police.

About 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, police sent to the 1000 block of Walnut Street to help an injured man on the sidewalk found Gustavo Avalos Salazar fatally injured, Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said.

Salazar had apparently gotten into a fistfight at Edinger Avenue and Flower Street earlier in the evening, Bertagna said.     An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
