Man Hospitalized After Fountain Valley Pile-Up

A man was hospitalized in unknown condition early today after a multi-vehicle collision on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Fountain Valley.

The collision occurred at 1:45 a.m. in the freeway’s northbound lanes near the Brookhurst Street off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol online incident log.

An entry on the log, later taken off-line, said the victim had suffered major head injuries.

A CHP dispatcher said she could not confirm this.

Callers to the CHP said a blacked-out vehicle in lanes had been involved in the collision.

A videographer at the scene said one of the involved vehicles was a Tesla with dealer plates.
