Motorcycle Rider ID'd After Fatal Huntington Beach Hit-And-Run

The Orange County Coroner's office released the identity of a Harley Davidson rider who died hours after the crash. One man was arrested.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA —A 26-year-old Long Beach man was positively identified after succumbing to his injuries from a fatal motorcycle crash in Huntington Beach.

Derrel Gollihugh, of Long Beach, was riding his 2016 Harley Davidson on Pacific Coast Highway when he and the driver of a red Solara collided. The driver of the Solara fled, police say.

Gollihugh was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, where he succumbed to injuries and died the following day, according to an official from the Orange County Coroner's Office.

Julien Cesar Solorzano, a Monrovia resident, was later arrested on suspicion of a fatal hit-and-run, Huntington Beach Police said, adding that he was positively identified with help from witnesses at the scene.

Solarzano was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday and was being held on $50,000 according to Orange County jail records.
