Not Bad, Fountain Valley! All 964 Drivers Pass DUI Checkpoint

None of the 964 drivers who passed through a Fountain Valley DUI checkpoint were arrested for driving under the influence.

In an effort to reduce the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol involved traffic collisions, the Fountain Valley Police Department conducted a DUI/Drivers License checkpoint on Friday December 18th from 9pm until 3am. The checkpoint was on Brookhurst Street at the intersection of Talbert Avenue, in the City of Fountain Valley.

A total of 964 vehicles traveled through the checkpoint and officers were able to contact all of the drivers.

No drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. One driver was issued a citation for being an unlicensed driver, and one driver was issued a citation for possession of marijuana. No vehicles were impounded.

Funding for this operation was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
