Officer and Suspect Wounded in Shootout on McFadden
A suspect was traumatically injured and an officer suffered a graze wound near the Fountain Valley border.

A suspect and at least one gang enforcement officer were involved in a gun battle this afternoon that resulted in injuries to both, Santa Ana police reported.
Officers were in the 2700 block of West McFadden Avenue when the gunfire erupted about 3:30 p.m. as they were patrolling the area, which has been racked by gang violence, including a recent homicide, according to Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
Shortly after the officers encountered the male suspect, whose name was not immediately released, an exchange of gunfire ensued, Bertagna said.
