One Killed, One Hospitalized in Westminister Motorcycle Crash

Police Tuesday were investigating a fatal motorcycle- versus-truck crash in Westminster that killed one of two people on the motorcycle and injured the other.

The crash happened around 9 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Edwards Street and Royal Oak Drive on the west side of the Westminster Mall, police told The Orange County Register.

A news photographer at the scene said the sport motorcycle hit the back of an asphalt truck that had just left the All American Asphalt lot at 14490 Edwards St.

One person on the motorcycle was declared dead at the scene and the other was taken to a hospital for treatment, the photographer said.

The injured person was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange with major injuries, Westminster police Sgt. Cameron Knauerhaze told The Register.
