Classic cars lined the soccer fields at the sports park Saturday as the annual Fountain Valley Classic Car and Truck show wowed the crowds at Summerfest. Car enthusiasts from all around were on hand to admire the rare rides, and many others were on hand to display their priceless cars. Among them were Robert and Diane Tuseth with their 1937 Packard 120.
"I purchased this car at car show in the 70s. Ever since then, I have treated this car like it was my kid, constantly giving it all my love and care," Tuseth said. "I just want to show her off today, like every father wants to show off their children to the world."
Another car that many people looked upon with utter fascination and glamor was a black 1939 Oldsmobile Convert. The owner of this 1939 antique is Bud Guyer.
"I received this car when I was only 30 years old from my father," Guyer said. "When I first received this car, it was literally in the worst condition possible. I made it my mission to get this car fixed up because my father never really took care of it. I’m 41 now, so it took me about 10 long years to get this car fixed up and beautiful as it looks now. I love this car more than any car I have ever laid eyes on."
Lastly, another car that really seemed to be eye-catching and loved by the crowd was a blue 1929 Ford Truck. It was designed so beautifully with flames and different kinds of Asian artwork, and is owned by Deane Hoffman.
"I’ve always been a truck guy and I’ve worked on fixing up this truck for the past six years," Hoffman said. "I have five different trucks I’ve worked on in my lifetime. They are all Ford trucks, but this is the most current one I’ve worked on."
