Police Arrest Two Suspected of Fountain Valley Tagging Spree

Two men are suspected of vandalizing more than 50 surfaces in around Fountain Valley.

Two 20-year-old men suspected in the tagging of more than 50 surfaces at a Fountain Valley shopping center were arrested this morning on suspicion of felony vandalism, police said.

An officer checking on a suspicious vehicle parked to the rear of a GameStop store at 16123 Harbor Blvd. just after 1 a.m. saw two people run south through the parking lot toward the front of the business, said Fountain Valley police Sgt. Adam Hertenstein.

“The officer observed fresh graffiti on the block wall adjacent to the area where the suspects were originally located,” Hertenstein said. “The officer was able to locate the suspects in front of the business and detained them for a vandalism investigation.”

The investigation led police to allege that suspects Joseph Navarro of Orange and Johnny Martinez of Santa Ana had spray painted multiple locations, the sergeant said.

“Officers located 51 separate surfaces tagged throughout the shopping center,” he said, adding that the duo were booked into the Orange County Jail on suspicion of felony vandalism.
