A 24-year-old man is suspected of trying to break into a home early Friday morning in Fountain Valley.
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA - A 24-year-old man on parole for a burglary conviction was arrested for allegedly trying to break into a Fountain Valley home early this morning, police said
Officers responded about 12:45 a.m. to the 11000 block of Lavender Avenue to investigate a report of a suspicious subject looking into a home's window, according to Fountain Valley police Sgt. Anthony Luce.
"While officers were responding to the location, the reporting party witnessed the subject jump the fence into the side yard of a residence," Luce said.
An officer approached the suspect -- identified as Keivon Washington -- after he allegedly broke a window to gain access into a home, according to Luce.
"The suspect saw the officer and fled over a back wall," but he was found hiding in a shed a few houses away and arrested, Luce said.
Washington had gloves and a window punch in his possession at the time of his arrest, according to police.
