Power Outage From Downed Lines Affects More Than 2,300 In North OC

Over 2,300 homes and businesses were affected by a power outage Monday.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA — Downed power lines in the area of Bushard Street and Garfield Avenue has caused a power outage to over 2,300 homes according to Southern California Edison's website.

Huntington Beach Police Department reported traffic stalled in the streets, and the total closure of Bushard Street at Garfield Avenue.

"Avoid the area, unless you like sitting in traffic," an HBPD spokesperson advised over Twitter.

Southern California Edison's spokesperson said that they are analyzing the problem and testing the lines to help limit the number of customer's affected.

"The expected restoration time is approximately midnight, Aug. 1," SCE said.
