Suspect Identified in Riverbed Shooting
An 8 a.m. shooting in a riverbed near Yorba Linda left one man transported to an area hospital

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA —The suspect in today's Yorba Linda shooting was identified as Jack Horn Jr. according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
Horn is a 73-year-old Yorba Linda resident, according to OCSD Lt. Mark Stichter.
"Horn was booked for assault with a deadly weapon," according to Stichter, when he shot another man in a Yorba Linda riverbed Monday morning.

A man in his late 60s was shot while working in a riverbed trail in Yorba Linda Lakebed Park and reservoir area when he was shot.
The shooting happened about 8 a.m. at Lakeview and Mariposa avenues, according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz.

The victim, who was not immediately identified, was airlifted by Mercy Air to Orange County Global Medical Center trauma center, in Santa Ana.
A condition report was not immediately available, but the victim was shot in the chest, according to Orange County sheriff's Lt. Mark Stichter.
"The victim was alive and speaking when he was transported," Stichter said. "A handgun was recovered at the scene, unknown caliber or make."
It's unclear what relationship, if any, the two had, Stichter said, adding they were not transients.
"We don't know what transpired to lead to the shooting at this time," he said.
