Rossmoor Shooting: Deputies Say a 71-Year-Old Killed Her 96-Year-Old Mom

A woman was in custody today on suspicion of fatally shooting her 96-year-old mother in Rossmoor, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Deputies responded about 4:20 p.m. Thursday to a report of a shooting in the 11200 block of Wallingsford Road, said Orange County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Jeff Hallock.
Gretchen DeStefano of Rossmoor was found dead at the scene, Hallock said. Christine Reynolds, 71, also of Rossmoor was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail on suspicion of murder, Hallock said. She was held in lieu of $1 million bail and was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
