Dozens of residential roads will be closed on and off for street renovations weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. until October.

Work crews for Hardy and Harper will be adding a 1.5-inch layer of asphalt to many local roadways worn down through weather and traffic.

Crews will also remove and replant some parkway trees and replace damaged sidewalks, curbs and gutters.
Alex Salazar, city project manager for the Residential Roadway Rehabilitation Project, says the renovations are part of the city's normal scope of work.

“After years of wear and tear, those streets need to be rehabilitated,” Alex Salazar said.
According to the city's Public Works department, crews will work 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays except on legal holidays and days with severe weather.
Crews began work this Monday, and the project is expected to finish in October.
Streets may be closed for up to four hours during construction, but city staff says “access to residences will be maintained.”
Residents are advised to check for “no parking” signs nearby, which will be posted 48 hours before the street work begins.
