Boy, 9, Seriously Burned After Stepping In Beach Fire Pit
BREAKING: The incident was reported at T Street Beach in San Clemente, officials said.

SAN CLEMENTE, CA – A 9-year-old boy suffered serious leg burns when he stepped into a fire pit Friday in San Clemente, authorities said.
The injury was reported about 6:25 p.m. on the T Street Beach, according to Capt. David Harper of the Orange County Fire Authority.
The boy suffered second- and third-degree burns and was airlifted to a burn unit, Harper said.

It was unclear if there was an active fire in the pit or if the boy was burned by embers from a previous fire, Harper said.
