Say Good-bye to Shell, Hello to Another Chase
Chase is opening 60 new branches in Southern California this year, and one of them is coming to Fountain Valley.
In January, JP Morgan Chase & Co. announced that it was adding more than 80 new Chase bank branches to its California network in 2012, including 60 in Southern California. That was nearly half of the 175 new branches that Chase plans to open across the U.S. this year.
In the last three years, will have expanded its California network by more than 200 branches, according to the company's website.
One of those new branches is coming to Fountain Valley soon.

To make way for the new Chase, the station on the northeast corner of Magnolia and Garfield, at 9025 Garfield Ave., will be torn down.
Owner Harry Naeim confirmed that the Shell station will be closed soon, but wasn’t quite sure exactly when.

“I think it will close in a couple of weeks, but I’m not sure,” said Naeim, who owns another station in Fountain Valley and may purchase another one in Huntington Beach.
No word on how long before the new Chase bank will open. But one that opened this week in Mission Viejo took nearly eight months for the previous structure to be torn down and a Chase bank constructed.
All together, opening 80 new Chase banks will create more than 1,200 jobs in the state, the company estimates. With the expansion, Chase will operate more than 1,000 California branches.
